Brad Ham scores hole-in-one at Rainbow Ridge after 40 years golfing

MANITOWANING—It was more of a case of shock rather than excitement for Brad Ham when he notched a hole in one at the Rainbow Ridge Golf Course (RRGC).

Mr. Ham said his three regular playing partners “were more excited than I was. I was in a little more shock. This was my first hole in one in 40 years of golfing. I’ve been close before, but this was the first that actually went in.”

Mr. Ham notched his ace on the 16th hole at RRGC on Thursday, August 14. “It was a shot over the water, 167 yards. The ball bounced once and rolled toward the hole. Someone in my group said, ‘it looks as if it is going to go into the hole, and it did,” he explained. “I was playing with my normal men’s night group: Brock McKenzie, Tyler Karn and Stan Esquimaux.”

“There was also a group on the (15th) green that saw the shot, and at the tee box at the 17th hole. There was quite an audience to see the shot,” said Mr. Ham.
