Fentanyl taken from Sheshegwaning home

On September 2nd 2016, a Break and Enter at a residence on Sheshegwaning First Nation; was reported to UCCM Anishnaabe Police Service.  The home owners had been away from the residence during the day and returned at approximately 8:00 PM on Friday evening to discover that their residence was entered.

A substantial amount of Fentanyl patches, other prescription medication, and cash were taken from the residence.  Officers attended the scene and conducted a forensic examination of the residence.  Police would like to speak with anyone that observed any suspicious activity or anyone with knowledge of this incident.

The missing medication is of particular safety concern.  Ingestion or use of the Fentanyl patches could be potentially harmful or fatal to someone whom they are not prescribed for.

This case is remains under investigation and police are asking anyone with information to please contact the UCCM Anishnaabe Police at 1-888-377-7135 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS(8477).  In addition police would like to remind residents to take extra security measures for medication that is kept in the household.
