LITTLE CURRENT—Scott Woods Band is coming back to Manitoulin, this time with a Christmas-themed show.
The popular fiddler, Scott Woods (who has been named Canadian Open Fiddle Champion and Grand Masters Fiddle Champion multiple times in each category) will bring his band’s tribute to Christmases past, present and future to the Northeast Town Recreation Centre in Little Current on Sunday, November 2. The two hours of family entertainment is scheduled for the afternoon, beginning at 2 pm, so everyone can be home before dark. The event is sponsored by Little Current United Church.
The Scott Woods Band is no stranger to Manitoulin and they continue to fill halls wherever they play because they bring not merely a “show” but fun and lively entertainment.
This year’s edition is headlined “Scott Woods’ Christmas Hoedown”.
Tickets are once again $45 and are available on Manitoulin at the Manitoulin Expositor Offices in Little Current and Gore Bay. The Expositor Office asks that you bring cash to purchase your tickets.
Tickets are also available directly from Scott Woods. You can call (toll free) 1-885-726-8896 and purchase tickets with your VISA or Master Card. Online ticket orders are also available by visiting www.scottwoods.ca.
The Scott Wood Band includes six talented musicians who bring humour, fancy bowing techniques and fiddling while walking on a rolling barrel, step-dancing (Leo Stock, aka ‘Spaghetti Legs’ is the reigning and three-time Canadian Open Step Dance Champion who also sings and plays the fiddle!) and other musical novelties sure to please.
The Northeast Town Recreation Centre will open at 1 pm on November 2, one hour prior to the show, and if there are still tickets available, they can also be purchased that day.
If you have any questions, please call The Expositor Office at 705-368-2744.
