Manitoulin Golf enjoys great turnout for annual String Tournament

GORDON—A total of 17 four-person teams took part in the annual String tournament held at Manitoulin Golf on Saturday, June 28.

In the first flight the team of Dennis and Cheryl Audette, their son Jeff Audette and Sandy Bonbled finished in top spot with a score of 49 (23 under par) in the 18-hole tournament. Finishing second was the team made up of Drew Burrowes team which finished three strokes back with a score of 52.

The second flight saw Julia, Shelby, Keegan and Eddie take first place with a score of 58, two strokes better than the team of Tony, Diane, Stewart and Sheila.

The prize for the men’s closest to the pin shot (fourth hole) was won by Nathan Byne, with the men’s closest to the pin on the 13th hole being Denis Audette. Boston Thibault won the prize for men’s longest drive on the 16th hole. 

Amy Wright won the ladies prize for the closest shot to the pin on the second hole, with the ladies closest to the pin on the 11th hole being won by Diane S. The ladies longest drive prize was won by Gerry Lynn Manitowabi on the 16th hole.
