PROVIDENCE BAY—A Canada Post Corporation representative says the rumours of the Providence Bay post office being closed or relocated are false.
“We have confirmed with the local operations team that there are currently no plans to close or relocate the Providence Bay Post Office,” said Lisa Liu, media relations with Canada Post, last Friday.
“The current post office is not relocating and not closing,” stated a regional Canada Post official.
These comments were made after The Expositor had been contacted by a Central Manitoulin municipal employee indicating the municipality was actively searching for a rental location in Providence Bay as the post office was going to need to be relocated from its current location at the Huron Sands in Providence Bay.
